He eventually grew to be very good at it and like it. Jack started writing poetry because of his dog that got hit by a car and died. He started writing poems about his dog, Sky, so he could remember Sky through his poems.
I think the theme of the story is don't be afraid to do something you like because of what others will think. The reason I think that is because in the story he did not like when his teacher put his name on the poems he made because he did not want the other kids to know he made them.
I would recommend this book to anyone that likes poetry because it has
many poems.
